A real-leather Junya Watanabe biker from the AD2014 autumn-winter season, garment-washed for a creased, broken-in hand and lined in a bright red tartan cotton.
The Piece
Junya Watanabe’s leather bikers sit at the heart of his women’s work: faithful to the classic motorcycle jacket in pattern, but altered in finish and detail. For autumn-winter 2014 the cowhide was washed after construction, giving it the crumpled texture and slight irregularity of a jacket that has already lived a life.
The jacket has the full biker set: asymmetric front zip, wide lapels with snap studs, snap epaulettes, a zipped chest pocket, two angled zip hand pockets and zipped cuffs. The interior is lined in red, black and yellow tartan cotton, with cupro in the sleeves, a contrast that shows when the jacket is worn open.
Product code JN-J025, AD2014, made in Japan by Comme des Garçons. The cut is short and fitted through the body with a neat shoulder.
