A current-season Issey Miyake knit dress in dark chocolate rib, with a rolled high neck, a sculpted cut-out at one shoulder and a hem that kicks out into curving fins.
The Piece
Issey Miyake's knitwear is designed with the machine rather than around it, so the rib, the shaping and the openings all come from the knitting itself rather than from cutting and sewing. The Spring/Summer 2026 collection used that freedom to play with asymmetry.
This dress, model IM61-KH792, is a close, body-skimming column in a fine cotton-polyester rib. The high neck rolls softly, and at one shoulder the knit opens into a curved cut-out, with a short winged sleeve on that side and a long fitted sleeve on the other, ending in a pointed cuff. At the hem the rib flares into curving fins at either side, so the silhouette moves when you walk.
In dark chocolate brown it is understated until you notice the construction. It is cut to midi length and works on its own or over a fine knit.
