A Hermès Constance 3 in the 24 size, Rose Mexico Swift set with marbled silk printed in Kyoto, from the 2021 limited edition that joined Japanese craft to the Paris workshops.
The Piece
Launched in 1969 and defined by its H clasp, the Constance was refined as the Constance 3 with an added internal division. For its marble silk edition Hermès worked with a Kyoto printing workshop to marble silk in flowing veins of colour, then set the silk into the leather of the flap and body, so each bag carries its own unique pattern.
This 24 pairs the marble silk with Rose Mexico Swift, a vivid, slightly blue-toned pink. The marbling moves through pink, yellow, sky blue, white and black, with a large palm-like motif across the back, and the hardware is palladium.
Inside, the two compartments and pockets are lined in Rose Mexico Swift. The Z stamp dates the bag to 2021.
At about 23 by 18 cm, the 24 is the more practical of the two sizes, taking a phone, a wallet and a small pouch, on a strap of about 91 cm that can be worn long or doubled.
