A DOGTOWN Black Dragon sukajan that sets Japanese tattoo aesthetics and dragon symbolism against American streetwear attitude. Paired dragons hold the chest, skulls and flowers wind down the sleeves, and a great mythic creature beneath DOGTOWN Black Dragon lettering commands the back, all in a refined black-and-ivory palette.
The Piece
The jacket is worked in a dramatic black, ivory white and cream satin palette with highly detailed embroidery throughout. The front carries paired, symmetrical dragon artwork in the Black Dragon motif, a classic sukajan composition given a more refined, modern look by the monochrome scheme. The dragon, one of the most iconic motifs of Japanese and East Asian art, stands for strength and protection, wisdom and power, transformation and fortune.
The sleeves carry bold skull and floral embroidery, with lotus flowers among the Japanese-inspired motifs, drawing on the visual language of Japanese tattoo art, motorcycle culture and alternative streetwear.
