A formidable CROWS × WORST T.F.O.A leather rider modeled on Yanagi Shinji, strategist and later vice-head of the Fifth Generation Busō Sensen. Austere from the front and monumental from the back, it is manga history rendered as a genuine leather motorcycle jacket rather than lightweight fan merchandise.

The Piece

The front is nearly austere: smooth black leather, a broad structured point collar, a full-length silver-tone center zipper, a horizontal zip chest pocket with a small ball-ended pull and two narrow, leather-trimmed angled hand pockets. Long metal zippers close each cuff, a short waist tab fastens with metal snaps, and adjustable leather straps with square buckles at the back sides draw in the lower silhouette. Only the white TFOA lettering embroidered directly into the leather of the upper sleeve hints at the identity behind the wearer.

Turn the jacket around and the restraint gives way. A huge bone-white skull, with broad forehead, deep black eye cavities, sharp cheekbones and a narrowed jaw, sits against the black hide, crossed by four long bones and crowned by arched serif TFOA capitals. Parallel internal stitch lines give each letter a ribbed, dimensional build, most visible in the concentric rounded O, while dense directional stitching follows the contours of the skull; dark leather left inside selected areas sharpens the joints and fractured-looking ends of the bones. The emblem reads like a motorcycle-club back patch translated into dense embroidery, integrated into the garment rather than attached as an afterthought.

Black leather, silver-tone metalwork and bone-white thread form a stark three-part vocabulary faithful to the severe visual world of CROWS and WORST, evoking club insignia, punk graphics, military unit symbols and old pirate heraldry. Inside, a black diamond-quilted lining adds warmth, body and a clean tailored finish, with a small leather hanging loop below the rear collar. The surviving woven label reads CROWS with the wording "spirited by H.T. with cropped heads" and a tagged size of 38.

A retailer announcement documents this Yanagi Shinji Fifth-Generation rider, identified by its back skull, entering additional production in 2011 in sizes 36, 38 and 40 at an original retail price of ¥39,900. The jacket is therefore most plausibly attributed to the early-2010s CROWS × WORST apparel era. It is not represented as a mid-century motorcycle jacket; its importance lies in early CROWS × WORST collector apparel and the evolution of delinquent-inspired streetwear.

Yanagi Shinji and Busō Sensen

Hiroshi Takahashi's delinquent-manga universe gave rise to the motorcycle gang Busō Sensen, rendered in licensed fashion as T.F.O.A, The Front of Armament, through an official clothing project produced with Cropped Heads to translate the manga into substantial wearable fashion. The group is defined by motorcycle culture, generational succession, inherited insignia and loyalty.

Yanagi Shinji was personally recruited by Fifth-Generation head Takeda Kōsei and later became vice-head, a quieter, calculating presence whose strength lies in judgment, loyalty and command. The Fifth Generation skull became closely tied to his rider jacket in CROWS × WORST merchandise, and period retailer material identified this version specifically as the Yanagi Shinji model with the skull on the back. The emblem is used with economy: one TFOA marking on the sleeve, one TFOA arch on the back, one central skull and no competing logos on the chest.
