Chaqueta Sukajan reversible Cropped Heads, bordado de águila y carpa koi «Far East Japan», reverso acolchado negro y rosa, talla M

A vivid vintage Cropped Heads sukajan in which a diving eagle meets rising koi beneath the script “Far East Japan,” worked on deep blue satin with golden-yellow sleeves. Reversed, it becomes a black and hot-pink quilted bomber with the brand crest: Japanese maximalism on one side, retro streetwear on the other.

The Piece

This vintage sukajan by Cropped Heads combines classic souvenir-jacket imagery with an electric color palette and a fully wearable reversible construction. The principal side pairs a deep blue satin-finish body with golden-yellow raglan sleeves; reversed, it becomes a dramatically different black and hot-pink quilted bomber.

The back stages an encounter between sky and water: a powerful eagle descends through pine branches while two koi rise and turn within stylized waves, snow-capped mountain silhouettes appear in the distance, and “Far East Japan” is embroidered in flowing red script. Cream, gold, brown and pale green thread build layered shading, and fine scale, feather and wave patterns add intricate surface detail. The asymmetrical movement of eagle and koi sweeps diagonally across the blue ground with a lively narrative quality.

The chest repeats the principal imagery in a balanced arrangement, with silver-white koi rising from waves on one side and the eagle descending through clustered pine on the other, connecting front and back without overwhelming the silhouette. Traditional arrow-shaped pocket trim, twisted red-and-white piping along the raglan seams, striped rib-knit collar, cuffs and waistband, a metal front zipper and two angled front pockets complete the souvenir face.

The quilted reverse is comparatively restrained: black quilted front panels, hot-pink quilted raglan sleeves with black sleeve stripes, contrasting arrow-shaped pocket trim, coordinating striped ribbing and an embroidered red Cropped Heads crest on the chest. It offers a sleek alternative to the richly illustrated side.

The eagle conveys strength, vigilance, authority and decisive movement; koi are associated with perseverance, aspiration and the ability to advance through difficult currents, their upward motion answering the eagle’s descent. Evergreen pine represents endurance and longevity, and waves evoke movement, adversity and constant transformation, so the jacket tells a story of ambition, resilience and opposing forces meeting between heaven and water. Cropped Heads is recognized among collectors of Japanese wagara fashion for expressive embroidery, tattoo-art influence and ambitious reinterpretations of traditional motifs, and this piece crosses easily into Amekaji, rockabilly and tattoo-inspired wardrobes.

Fit and Styling

Tag size M is approximately comparable to a Western S-M, depending on body proportions, layering and preferred silhouette; vintage Japanese sizing may differ from contemporary Western sizing, so compare the measurements with a similar jacket that fits comfortably.

Pair the souvenir side with faded denim and boots for an old-school Amekaji look, or wear the black-pink side with monochrome trousers for a sharper contemporary silhouette. It suits sukajan archives, rockabilly and tattoo-inspired wardrobes, concerts and nightlife, editorial display and unisex statement outerwear.
