The Piece

Chrome Hearts reserves 22-karat gold for a short list of its most sought-after forms. The alloy is softer and richer in colour than the 18-karat used by most fine jewellers, and every piece is cast, chased and polished in the brand's own Los Angeles workshop. This is the 1 Ball Tiny CH Cross charm, catalogued as 1BT TNY CH CRS. A domed cross ball, its four-petal floral motif sharply defined, hangs from a thick split bail and is linked by a short chain of oval rings to the Tiny CH Cross, the house emblem with its flared, fluted arms and raised central boss. The bail carries the Chrome Hearts gothic lettering and the 1998 copyright date in relief.

At 5.5 cm overall, with the cross measuring roughly 16 by 55 mm across the full drop, it has real presence without becoming a statement medallion. The weight of 11.7 grams is felt in the hand and the movement of the linked elements gives it a lively fall on a chain.
