Ivory tweed shot with gold, the black cap toe and a large metallic CC: the Chanel espadrille at its most recognisable.

The Piece

The upper is a pale bouclé tweed with a gold thread running through it, the cap toe in black and a big double C worked in metallic yarn across the vamp. Braided jute wraps a rubber sole debossed with the CC; heel about 2.6 cm.

Reference G39028. Size 36; insole about 24.5 cm (9.6 in), width 7.5 cm. With the Chanel box and dust bag.

Condition

• Graded A in Japan: light marks and small scratches, otherwise in good order.
• Soiling to the soles and light rubbing inside the CC on both shoes, shown in the last photographs.
