A camellia sketched in ink and watercolour, sealed under a white cabochon and ringed with crystals. Chanel’s “camellia drawing” brooch from Spring 2008, a rarity in the round, with its box.
The Piece
The camellia was Gabrielle Chanel’s flower, scentless and perfect, and the house has rendered it in silk, leather, enamel and diamonds. The 08P drawing series took a different route, printing a loose botanical sketch beneath glass so the flower looks hand-painted on porcelain.
At 47 mm the brooch is a focal point on a lapel or a scarf. The pin has a slight bend and there is a trace of adhesive on the reverse, both shown in the photographs; neither affects wear.

Condition
- Very good condition overall, with light surface marks and fine scratches.
- The pin has a slight bend; a trace of adhesive remains on the reverse, shown in the eighth photograph.
