Broche Chanel de racimo de cabujones y perlas, negro y tono plateado, otoño de 2005 (05A)

A 75 mm cluster of smoky cabochons, one faux pearl and a black fabric medallion, each held in a beaded silver-tone bezel: Chanel’s Autumn 2005 brooch, made in the Gripoix tradition of glass and metal.

The Piece

The 05A collection drew on Mademoiselle’s own taste for dark, outsized costume jewels, the kind she wore against black jersey. The mix of glass, pearl and cloth in one piece is pure Chanel.

The brooch is substantial and made to hold a coat or the shoulder of a jacket; the pin is the roll-over type.
