Celine by Hedi Slimane Printed Satin Teddy Jacket, Airbrushed Days Sun Graphic, Ivory, Size 52, Near Mint

An ivory satin teddy from Hedi Slimane’s Celine whose front and back panels dissolve into an airbrushed sun, clouds and a hazy word, Days, in pastel blue, pink and yellow.

The Piece

Hedi Slimane’s Celine menswear often borrows images from artists and from the visual language of California youth, and the spring-summer teddies became the place where that imagery was printed large. This jacket carries a dreamy airbrushed graphic of a sun ringed in light, wisps of cloud and the word Days, placed so that it runs across the front panels and repeats across the back.

The body is a fluid rayon satin with a soft sheen; the printed panels sit between plain ivory raglan sleeves, and the collar, cuffs and hem are finished in ivory rib with navy stripes. It closes with ivory snaps, has two front pockets and is lined in acetate.

Size 52 gives a generous, relaxed shape with room through the chest. It is a light jacket for warm evenings, best worn simply so the print does the work.

The season of this design has not been confirmed, and it is presented as a Hedi Slimane-era Celine piece. It is in near-mint condition, which is uncommon for printed satin.
