The Piece

Where haute horlogerie, avant-garde design and culturally defining collaborations converge, few pieces carry the weight of this one. It stands among the most important crossovers between watchmaking and luxury avant-garde design of the past decade, the point at which the Royal Oak's legacy meets the aesthetic rigor of ALYX. The 41mm case, octagonal bezel and integrated Royal Oak bracelet are rendered in 18K yellow gold, with a satin-finished yellow-gold dial and minimalist indices that carry the ALYX restraint into the familiar architecture.

Inside is the in-house Audemars Piguet Calibre 4401, an automatic flyback chronograph running at 4Hz (28,800 vph) with a 70-hour power reserve. Sapphire crystals front and back reveal the movement, and the ALYX signature engraving on the rotor and caseback, together with the limited-edition '1017 ALYX 9SM' branding, marks the watch's identity. A screw-down crown secures water resistance to 50m.
