For Autumn\/Winter 2019 the collection was built around heavy jacquards with broken, painterly surfaces, shown on long hooded silhouettes; this coat appeared on the runway in a related colourway, and the opening photographs include that look for reference.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe cloth is a thick wool jacquard in which panels of violet, orchid, slate and black meet at irregular angles, each one flecked with white as if the colour had been rubbed away. Nothing about it is printed: the pattern is woven through, so it reads on both faces and keeps its depth in any light.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe cut is generous in the true Y's manner, with dropped shoulders, a wide shawl-like lapel and a length that falls well below the knee.
