louis-vuitton-x-takashi-murakami-superflat-binder-gi1569
Louis Vuitton × Takashi Murakami Superflat Binder GI1569, Japan Exclusive Monogram Canvas Organizer

From the Murakami re-edition series, the Superflat binder GI1569 reinterprets Louis Vuitton's Monogram through color, levity and controlled visual chaos, turning a utilitarian object into a compact statement of Superflat philosophy. This Japan-exclusive example is new and unused, with its full set and 40 clear card sleeves.

The Piece

Rendered in coated Monogram canvas with a vibrant polychrome motif, the binder is lined in contrasting turquoise cowhide and closes with a minimal elastic band of almost notebook-like restraint. Its modular sleeve system lets the function change with the owner's intent, from card storage to collection album, an exercise in engineering presented as simplicity.

Murakami's intervention is unmistakable: bursting floral elements, hyper-saturated color, and a playful distortion of the Monogram into something that feels alive. It carries his conviction that even luxury can be flattened into pop and still hold its authority.

The Murakami × Louis Vuitton collaborations redefined early-2000s luxury, collaboration not as marketing but as cultural disruption, and this re-edition marks renewed collector interest in the partnership and its return to serious collecting. The binder speaks to Louis Vuitton collectors through the Monogram and Japan exclusivity, to Murakami collectors through its iconography and re-edition lineage, and to design collectors as an object of art, while remaining an accessible entry to Murakami-era Vuitton beside the bags. A binder by name, a Murakami artifact by nature.

Details

Maker: Louis Vuitton

Model: LV × TM Binder Superflat

Reference: GI1569

Line: Murakami re-edition, Japan exclusive

Origin: Made in Italy

Material: Monogram canvas with polychrome motif; turquoise cowhide interior; elastic band closure

Included: Full set with 40 clear card sleeves (9-pocket pages)

Type: Binder / organizer, functional collectible

Condition

Japonista grade S · Unworn or as new, complete with original packaging.

New and unused, in collector-grade presentation with complete accessories.

Authenticity & Care

Reference GI1569, the Japan-exclusive LV × TM Superflat binder, made in Italy in Monogram canvas with turquoise cowhide interior, complete with its sleeve inserts.
