These boots date from Autumn\/Winter 1998 and take the monkey boot, a lace-to-toe work boot associated with climbers and labourers, and give it Yamamoto's weight and severity.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe upper is smooth black leather with a cap toe, stitched heel counter and side panel, and a long run of eyelets and speed hooks that lace almost to the toe. The defining feature is the sole: a thick black rubber unit moulded with a broken, block-like tread in the manner of a tyre, giving the boots a planted, industrial stance.
