Original examples are now museum pieces, which is why the most exacting reproductions matter. Aero Leather of Galashiels, in the Scottish Borders, is among the most respected makers in the field and hand-cuts each jacket to order.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis jacket was ordered directly from Aero in March 2015 in Horween front quarter horsehide, a dense, glossy leather that creases boldly and ages towards a deep, uneven patina. It carries the Buco horse label, a hand-written Aero production tag marked Insurrection, and brass Talon zips throughout. The snap-down collar, epaulettes, half belt, zipped and slanted pockets and zipped cuffs follow the 1950s pattern, and the body is lined in black corduroy for winter.
