Japonista Sole: Samourai Kamon Jika Tabi

Submitted by on May 13, 2010 – 6:12 amNo Comment

This Samourai Kamon inspired design shall give you the power to feel the aura of the brave warriors as emblazoned in the Kamon or family crests on the Tabi skin. Its very “Shibui” taste is very traditional and contemporary in both senses without defying the concepts of wabi-sabi and zen in its overall impact and design. Watch out for our upcoming seasonal offerings of the Kamon and Samurai or Samourai (Samurai + Amor / Love) series from now one. All offerings shall be in limited numbers so be sure to grab your pair by then. Viva La Japonismo!

Now is your chance to feel gorgeous and brave like the real Samurai.

Nikko Jika Tabi

Nikko has been the capital of Japan during the reign of Tokugawa Ieyasu. The strong contrast between black and white comprise the whole inpiration of this combination. The great balance between yin and yang, bravery, courage and manhood is instilled and imbibed in its spirit. Power to the soul.  Sole Power.

Kyoto Jika Tabi

Kyoto Jika Tabi. Symbolizes the traditional feel and shade of the Kyoto atmosphere and its heart-captivating charm of being the heart of Japan. The color represents the Aozome of what is worldly known as the “Japanese Blue” or “Japanese Indigo”. Wear this and believe it or not, “Wa” spirit will be with as you walk in fashion and function.

Kamakura Jika Tabi

http://japonista-sole.com/0pics/ad%20shoot/kitano/kamakura%20(2).JPG

This style is inspired by the image of the Kamakura Period which is said to be the birth of the shibui and wabi sabi taste of the Japanese. Most of what we feel as traditional Japanese such as the color combinations trace their roots to this period where the truly beautiful Japanese sense was refined to the heighest standards focusing on function and beauty. This is known as the 機の美 or Kinobi in Japanese. The dark Japanese red with its faded and grainy details combined along with the eternality of black gives a very refined aura symbolic of the nobles during that period.
